    Ref: Jacob Stover and Sallie McGhee, Raleigh Co VA, pg 1. There are questions of Jacob's father being Henry Stover 1741-1798. Henry had a son Jacob. Just not certain it's THIS Jacob.

    Daniel Bly has doubts that he is a descendant of Jacob and Sarah Boone Stover, since Sarah was English, not German, so Henry might not be inclined to sign his will in German script as Heinrich Stauffer.

    It is generally accepted (but not proven) that this Jacob Stauffer (Stover) had brothers Hans and Christian (pg 224) and that this Jacob Stover, is the Jacob who married Sarah Boone 15 Mar 1715 in Pennsylvania, aunt of Daniel Boone. Jacob and Sarah had nine children in Pennsylvania. After Sarah's death, it is believed Jacob left his children with the Boone in-laws and traveled to explore the "Valley of Virginia."

    It is also speculated that Bishop William Stover (abt 1725-1800) was closely related to Jacob, the Pioneer of the Valley of Virginia and other Stovers.

    Died:
    Jacob Stover of Massanutten died in Orange Co in 1741. His son, Jacob Jr, qualified as admr on 22 Mar 1741. His wife's name was Ruth. Ref: Forerunners; History of the Strickler Family, pg 406.

    Sarah Boone Stover is believed to have died sometime before her father, George Boone, who died in 1744. When he died he left 8 children (of 9) and records show all but Sarah were found after 1744.

    Sarah Boone Stover is thought to have died in Penn. prior to her father's death (in 1744), since she's not named in his will. Ref: Stover - Through the Years 1962 pg 35.
