Mention of this famous colored preacher is made in the Rutland, Vermont Bi-Centennial Newspaper (Sect 10a). Ezra Duell was a farmer, blacksmith and a commissioner of highways. He had 11 children by his 1st marriage and 1 from his 2nd. He had 84 grandchildren; 52 grandchildren named Duel and 32 from his daughters' marriages (Ref.: Vol 2 (Hyatt)).
