He opposed the Dutch claim to Brookhaven, was ordered to appear before the Dutch Governor. Apparently he did not and his lands were confiscated.

He gives to son Elijah land lying to the east of the above. He gives to son Roger "the land given me by the freeholders of the Yonkers Plantation." He gives to wife Mary the rest of his lands in Westchester, with 3 acres of meadow in Long Neck, for life, and then to his sons Noah, Enoch, and Joseph.
