It is generally accepted (but not proven) that this Jacob Stauffer (Stover) had brothers Hans and Christian (pg 224) and that this Jacob Stover, is the Jacob who married Sarah Boone 15 Mar 1715 in Pennsylvania, aunt of Daniel Boone. Jacob and Sarah had nine children in Pennsylvania. After Sarah's death, it is believed Jacob left his children with the Boone in-laws and traveled to explore the "Valley of Virginia."

It is also speculated that Bishop William Stover (abt 1725-1800) was closely related to Jacob, the Pioneer of the Valley of Virginia and other Stovers.
